February 22, 2024, Geneva, Switzerland To discuss the application of cutting-edge technologies in trade, the World Economic Forum will bring together 300 ministers, business executives, trade leaders, specialists, and representatives of civil society. The World Trade Organization’s 13th Ministerial Conference will occur in tandem with the first-ever TradeTech Forum in 2024.

The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi and the Ministry of Economy in the United Arab Emirates are partners in organizing the TradeTech Forum. It is based on the World Economic Forum-hosted TradeTech Global initiative, which tests novel trade technologies and investigates business models and policy. The program aims to change global trade.

This involves assisting businesses in effectively navigating and meeting new legal or customer demands for supply chain transparency and resilience. The use of technology to close trade finance gaps and streamline trade procedures in developing nations.

  • TradeTech facilitates the real acceleration of trade changes, which is a complement to the MC13 negotiations. The World Economic Forum’s extensive expertise in promoting trade facilitation globally serves as an example of how public-private cooperation may enhance trade.
  • At a TradeTech event. There will be exhibits featuring trade innovators and cooperative coalitions working to overcome network barriers to promote innovative trading technology around the globe.

  • Roundtable: TradeTech and the 13th Ministerial Conference: How can international policies support fair and sustainable trade through technology? 15:45–16:30
  • Panel discussion: “From vision to action: Building coalitions for a global TradeTech boom” from 16.30 to 17.15
  • 17.15–17.45: World Economic Forum President Børge Brende. United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi will make closing remarks.
